Paxos

Paxos is a small island situated 11 km to the south of Corfu and one that having visited once, many decide to return for their holidays to Paxos. The scenery is especially captivating with dry stone walls and olive groves criss-crossing the hillsides.

Our Recommended Paxos Properties

Due to the fact that tourism has been gradually introduced to the island and the absence of an airport - visitors must fly into the neighbouring island of Corfu and travel onwards via the flying dolphin catamaran,  Paxos remains remarkably unspoilt.

The island is dotted with excellent beaches and secluded coves with crystal clear waters, perfect for swimming and snorkling, all easily reached from our Paxos Villas. Most of the over 30 beaches are made up of white pebbles and slope gently into the turquoise waters, but there is a sandy beach at Mogonissi. Small boats can be hired locally to travel between the three villages on Paxos and to discover the small isolated coves that cannot be reached by road.

The three main villages on the island are:

Gaios - built around a port and protected by two smaller islands – Aghios Nikolas and Panagia.

Lakka - situated to the north of the island

Loggos sitting quietly to the east.

Life across the island remains laid back and friendly -Greece at its very best. With around 150 old stone olive-presses, 63 chapels and several windmills, Paxos is also an ecellent island for walking with some of the best found around Lakka.
