Andros

Andros – just 90 minutes from the Greek mainland by fast ferry is a real gem.  Naval traditions combined with sandy beaches, rocky coastlines and hills among the fertile plains make it one of a kind – certainly among the Cycladic islands.  Andros is a very attractive island with some traditional and very picturesque villages.  The fortified capital of the island is a real jewel which combines Venetian and Cycladic architecture, narrow stone paved alleys, arcades and bright coloured flowers.

Our Recommended Andros Properties

Andros is a great holiday destination as well as a paradise for walkers – there are the hills, valleys, monasteries and approximately 70 villages to explore – as well as the beaches which range from sandy crescent bays to secluded coves all framed by the beautiful turquoise of the Aegean sea.

Ándros is definitely worth a visit and can be seen also as a cultural tourism destination, thanks to its museums.  The globally acknowledged Museum of Modern Art, managed by the Vassilis and Eliza Goulandris Foundation, houses unique collections of paintings and sculptures, whereas the archaeological museums in Hóra and Paleópolis represent the ancient history of the island with their exhibits.  The Cyclades Olive Museum is a fine example of a small pre-industrial, animal powered, olive oil producing unit that is definitely a must-see site.

Andros can be combined with Mykonos, Tinos or Athens.
