Lipsi

Lipsi may be small – but the island has a powerful impact on any visitor, with the low slung harbour festooned with yellow nets and the whitewashed village of Lipso climbing the hill behind.

The island is full of rugged hills, serene coves and deserted beaches.  Lipsi was where the nymph Calypso supposedly waylaid Odysseus for several years.  The local speciality today is mzithra cheese made from goats milk and seawater and the island’s thyme honey is very distinctive too.
