Sleeps 2-10, Bed & breakfast
Dexamenes Seaside Hotel is an architectural slice of Greek trading history on the mainland’s western Peloponnese coast. Inside an abandoned wine factory set directly on the sea, the property offers guests the singular hospitality experience of sleeping inside old wine tanks from the 1920s, which have now been minimally reanimated with steel, engineered glass, timber, and a clean-lined aesthetic. Dexamenes, built in late 1920’s, is indicative of the industrialization of the long-standing wine-making tradition of the wider region.
Many of the wine tanks also boast a private patio under a canopy, while a bar-lounge, a taverna, a history room, and a boutique “Bakaliko” store selling local produce all bring the location to the forefront. Taking guests from this post-industrial concrete landscape to the sands of Kourouta beach is a wide promenade that seems to float above the sand.
Winetank rooms have a maximum capacity of 2 adults and 1 child under 12– the property also has a limit on the maximum number of children under 12 in residence at any given time. Bookings for parties which include children are strictly on a request basis with the property. Views are either the grounds of the property, the courtyard containing the former winetanks, or the beach and the sea.
For larger parties, the beachfront villa, once a wine chemistry laboratory, is a 240 sq metre luxurious beachfront option. The property is comprised of 2 identical first floor 1 bedroom suites combines with a large ground floor bunk room. This makes it the perfect option for 2 families – the property limit on under 12s still applies for bookings to the beachfront villa. All rooms have direct access to the beach and sea views.
