Akrolithi means “edge of the rock”. The name of this family owned hotel was chosen deliberately – guests here feel betwixt the sky and the sea on the western side of Itilo bay on the Mani. The characteristic towers offer an emblematic and powerful presence on the skyline offering travellers the ideal introduction to the secrets of Mani hospitality.
The outdoor spaces feature lots of local stone to respect the unique local lamdscape. The gardens are filled with the aroma of sage, oregano, thyme and citrus fruit. The family owners are incredibly proud of their perennial olive trees that were meticulously transported from their original home. The Akrolithi Boutique Hotel is proud of being the first in the Mani to be certified as eco-friendly by the international group Green Key.
Each of the rooms has been decorated and furnished according to words that are both still used and that have died out from the local dialect to make up an invitation but at the same time a challenge for visitors to be totally immersed in the character of both the building and the location. The 10 rooms are all comfortably furnished and offer all the amenites needed by the modern traveller. Some even offer the luxury of a private outdoor Jacuzzi.
Just 100m from the main hotel is the separate Akrolithi guesthouse. Both the hotel and the guesthouse offer panoramic views over the bay of Neo Itilo and the picturesque village of Limeni. Beneath the guesthouse is the beach of Tsipa which is perfect for sunbathing and swimming in the sea. The Akrolithi Guesthouse comprises of three stone built apartments suitable for up to 4 people and all are beautifully decorated and fully equipped for self catering.
