Just a short ferry journey from Athens, on the tranquil island of Tinos, Phos Villas provides an idyllic retreat overlooking the Aegean Sea. Tucked into the secluded cove of Ballos, around six kilometres from Chora, the island’s main town, this collection of three villas promises a serene escape immersed in Cycladic light and beauty.

Each villa draws inspiration from ancient Greek deities who personify different times of the day. Eōs represents dawn, Hélios the sun, and Seléne the moon. Spread over two levels, the villas can host up to six guests if extra beds are used, though they are most comfortable for four. The interiors blend modern design with Cycladic tradition, featuring elegant furnishings, soothing colour palettes, and spacious living areas. Expansive terraces and shaded pergolas create welcoming spaces for outdoor dining and relaxation.

Helios and Selene villas are enhanced with private swimming pools, while Helios also offers an inviting hot tub. All three properties share a scenic viewpoint reached by a rocky path, where guests can watch the sunset spread brilliant colours across the sea and the neighbouring island of Syros. This natural amphitheatre of light embodies the Greek word “phos,” meaning illumination, which inspired both the villas’ names and their design ethos.

The privileged location allows easy access to the unspoilt beach of Ballos, just a minute’s walk down a stone path lined with native tamarisk trees. Clear waters and a calm, sheltered bay create an ideal setting for swimming. A picturesque church, Agia Thalassini, stands nearby, adding to the coastal charm. For leisurely days by the sea, sunbeds are available, and the boho-inspired Bianco Beach Bar and Restaurant offers satisfying meals and refreshments throughout the day. Guests may also choose to have breakfast delivered to their villa.

Phos Villas were created for travellers in search of an authentic yet luxurious hideaway. The architecture celebrates natural light, paying homage to Le Corbusier’s philosophy that design is a harmonious play of shapes brought to life by illumination. Each villa captures this vision, transforming from the glow of dawn to the brilliance of midday and the gentle radiance of moonlight.

Although the beach and taverna are within walking distance, car hire is recommended to fully explore Tinos. The island’s dramatic landscapes, including the lunar rock formations of Volax, traditional villages, and captivating coastline, offer endless opportunities for discovery. Phos Villas stands as a refined base for those seeking understated elegance and a deep connection to the light and spirit of the Cyclades.
